brianne mauro, BScN RN
Brianne has been dancing since the age of two. She is trained in jazz, tap, musical theatre, hip-hop, ballet and lyrical, and has been recognized many times with special awards for her stage presence and performance quality. Brianne also excelled in dance exams and received honors in many Jazz, Tap and Ballet examinations through the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. In 2010 she received the Outstanding Choreographer Award at the annual Ontario Secondary School DanceFest, and is now a member of the Board of Directors. Brianne attended Nipissing University where she was the President of the recreational dance program, and danced with the varsity Nipissing Dance Pak. She now holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and upon graduation received the President's Award for Leadership and campus involvement. Brianne is currently working in the Intensive Care Unit, and hopes to pursue a Masters of Nursing in Leadership and Management. Brianne has been a member of the Carousel Staff since 2016, having founded Carousel's Lyrical program, which now has more than 100 students enrolled. She also enjoys working with the Carousel Theatre Company and the Dance for EveryBODY program. Brianne is passionate about creating a safe and welcoming environment for all dancers, where students can explore creative movement with a focus on self-love, emotional expression and strength training to prevent injuries. Brianne is thankful for the opportunity to share her love of dance while also pursuing her career in Science.
