deanne bingleman, ba (dance), Maor dance workout cert, ipath member
Dee joined the Carousel team in September 2016. She's honoured to share her love and knowledge of dance to all ages and stages. She considers herself a life-long learner and for a third year in a row has spent 10 weeks this summer in a tap intensive for tap teachers with Karida Griffith. Dee is excited to bring new ideas to her tap classes this fall! Dee has enjoyed a lifetime of participating in local and area festivals, creating dance shows for Rogers Cable, performing on Breakfast Television and the 8:08 Dance Series in Toronto and has thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities to create works through Carousel shows. In 1995 she graduated with a B.A. in Dance from the University of Waterloo. In 1998 she received a Leading Edge K-W Arts Award for her contributions to the K-W dance community. In 2013 she became one of only two certified instructors in Canada to teach Maor Dance Workout. In 2014, Dee was honoured with the Mentor Award through KW Arts Awards and with Volunteer of the Year award through the Federation of Teacher’s of Ontario. In addition to her teaching position at Carousel as a tap, modern, jazz, ballet instructor/choreographer, she is also the mother of 3 grown sons, the head Chiropractic Health Assistant at Family Chiropractic and Wellness, is a Reiki Master & transformational life mentor. Community is an important core value of Dee and she loves all the opportunities she's experienced in her various jobs to be able to connect with the KW Community. Dee aims to inspire all of her students and hopes it is as rewarding for them to incorporate dance in their lives as it is for her to teach it. She whole heartedly believes everyone can dance, it's one of the first things our bodies know how to do. Keep playing, dreaming, creating, having fun, follow your heart and NEVER STOP MOVING!!!!
