GILLIAN BROOK
Gillian Brook is a Teacher and choreographer, originally trained at Carousel Dance Centre in ballet, modern, jazz and tap. They have trained up to their advanced 2 RAD and have completed training to become an ADAPT Jazz and Tap educator. Gillian began dancing at the early age of 2 being the second of 4 siblings to have danced at Carousel. As a dancer at Carousel, Gillian performed locally with the KW Symphony, Guelph Dance Festival and in Lacey Smith’s modern dance Four Seasons projects in Guelph and Toronto. Gillian has been honored to have their choreography performed in Walt Disney World and has also won an award for their choreography at the Muskoka Ballet Choreographer's Gala in 2019. Gillian has continued their dance training through dance workshops with: George Absi, Tessa Alves, Kevin Howe, Ryan Foley, Linda Garneau, Kim O’Neill, Crystal Tusim, and Bree Wasylenko. As well as other Workshops that focus on working with children with special needs and creating an inclusive dance class environment. Outside of Carousel, Gillian is currently studying Fine Arts and Production Tech at the University of Waterloo and is on track to graduate in 2025. While at University Gillian has worked on school productions such as She Kills Monsters, Everybody, and Immolation. They have also had the opportunity to work behind the scenes for Drayton Entertainment for the productions; Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Kinky Boots, Fiddler on the Roof, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Gillian is looking forward to having the opportunity to work on other productions in the future and is excited to continue teaching at Carousel.
