health screening
All students and teachers will be required to complete a passive COVID-19 screening prior to entering the studio. The screening is posted at all entrances and is also available on our website. Teachers will also check temperatures of each student as they arrive with a contact free thermometer. Parents must not leave until their child's temperature has been taken and they have been admitted to the studio. Anyone displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 or any student who is unwell will not be permitted to attend classes. ALL CLASSES WILL BE AVAILABLE ON ZOOM so that any student who is mildly unwell will be able to complete their classes from home. Zoom class links will be e-mailed to all registered students. All of our studios have been equipped with large screen TV's and technology devices to facilitate making the classes available on Zoom. If your child will be absent from in-person classes please let use know either by e-mail - admin@caorouseldancecentre.ca or by phone 519-746-8877.
FAQ's
- What if my child is not unwell but his temperature reading is high when the teacher checks? We have found that sometimes if a student is waiting in the sun or a hot car, their temperature reads falsely high. If the first reading is high, we will ask the student to wait a few minutes and we will take their temperature again. If we consistently receive a reading that is in the red zone (indicating a fever), the student will not be permitted to attend class. We would appreciate all parents waiting until the teacher has provided confirmation of a normal temperature reading before leaving.
- My child attends other activities and they are not checking temperatures, why are you requiring this at the studio? Taking temperatures is extremely quick and easy. It's another layer of safety and ensures that if a child does have a fever, they won't be exposing other children to whatever illness is causing their fever.
- Will teachers also be required to complete health screens and take their temperatures? Yes, will be requiring all teachers to take their temperatures each day before they begin teaching and they will also need to complete the health screen before coming to the studio.
- What do you mean when you call this a passive health screen? This means that we will not actively ask you the screening questions each time you arrive at the studio. Instead, we place the responsibility on you to review the questions each week before bringing your child to dance class. A copy of the health screen appears at the bottom of this webpage and will also be posted at each studio entrance as a reminder to families.
