kalene ticknor-malton

Kalene began her dance training at the Carousel Dance Centre when she was 5 years old. She continued to follow her passion for dance as a student at Eastwood Collegiate's Integrated Arts Program.  After graduating from the Arts Program in 2005, Kalene studied dance at both Ryerson University and The School of Toronto Dance Theatre. Kalene joined Carousel's teaching team in September 2008 and currently teaches senior modern classes. While teaching at Carousel, Kalene went back to school for a second career. She attended Conestoga College for the Early Childhood Education program. After graduation, Kalene worked in kindergarten programs for 3 years with the WRDSB, until finding a permanent position as an RECE at a local Nursery School, where she has been since 2016.  Outside of teaching dance, her hobbies include directing and performing with local theatre groups, and spending time with her partner and son.
