ruth priddle - 1941-2016
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear friend and mentor Ruth Priddle. It was Ruth's creative vision and interest in dance that led to the establishment of The Carousel Dance Centre more than 40 years ago. The directors, staff and students at the Carousel Dance Centre have all been deeply touched by Ruth's passion for dance as an art form and feel honored to have been able to learn from her. Although Ruth "retired" from Carousel more than once, she never retired her passion for dance and continued her involvement in Carousel as a guest choreographer, teaching her ladies dance class and even putting on her own dance shoes once again to attend "parent and tot" classes with her young grandsons. Ruth is shown here providing some last minute notes to her dancers before their performance at the Registry Theatre this past April. You can see from the expressions on the dancer's faces how much they enjoyed working with this wonderful energetic woman as she shared her passion for dance with them. We thank Ruth for the many wonderful memories and for inspiring us all. She touched so many lives through her work in dance and will be greatly missed.
