CAROUSEL'S COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN
As we return to the studios this fall, we will continue to follow our COVID policies and procedures that were developed for our 2020/2021 dance season. Our policies were designed based on provincial guidelines and in consultation with Waterloo Region Public Health and other dance professionals. We are a member of Dance Safe Ontario and have passed the Covid Safe Ambassador program. As we return to in person instruction, our top priority is keeping everyone safe and healthy. It is important that each family carefully reads through our policies and procedures. Agreement to following the policies is a requirement for attending classes at Carousel.
VACCINATION POLICY (effective September 10, 2021)
All program participants ages 12 years and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This policy applies to adult caregivers participating in the “You & Me” dance program as well as adults who will remain in the building with children during pre-school programs. Proof of vaccination can be shown at the first class or may be e-mailed in advance of participation to [email protected]. Once seen and noted in our system, vaccination records will not be kept on file. The only exemptions will be medical exemptions (with a doctor's note) and for those under 12 years of age. |
HEALTH SCREENING
All students and teachers will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening prior to entering the studio. The screening is posted at all doors and is also available on our website. Teachers will also check temperatures of each student as they arrive. Parents must not leave until their child's temperature has been taken and they have been admitted to the studio. Anyone displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 or any student who is unwell will not be permitted to attend classes. Classes will be available on Zoom for students who have symptoms but who are still well enough to dance. In order for your child to take their class on Zoom, you must call or e-mail the office a minimum of two hours prior to the start of class so that we can make sure the Zoom meeting is initiated for the class. Meeting codes to access the Zoom meetings will be sent to families by e-mail.

One parent/caregiver per child may attend the parent and tot class. One parent/caregiver per child may enter the building during pre-school dance classes.

STUDIO WAIVER
Parents will be asked to sign an on-line waiver prior to their child participating in the program. While we are taking every possible measure available to stop the spread of COVID-19, parents must recognize that attending classes at the Carousel Dance Centre may pose some element of risk and that Carousel will not be held liable for any illness or injury that arises as a result of participation in our programs. Parents also agree that if due to COVID-19 we are no longer able to offer in-person classes, we will quickly and seamlessly transition to an on-line format that follows the same schedule as our in person classes. Virtual classes will replace the in-person classes and no refunds or credits will be provided for the remainder of term. You will always have the option to cancel enrollment at the end of each term.
